For Seasons on Life

For seasons on life
When fall turns to winter
and winter to spring
let me embrace
the seasons of life.

From highs and lows
From joy to sorrow
and back again
From birth to breath
and life to death.

God, make yourself known.

Our thanks to the families that were able to attend the Father and Son breakfast. In efficient fashion the College Services team delivered a hot breakfast, served by Year 11 immersion students, with assistance from Gary Keown and the Hospitality students all done within a little over 30 minutes. Thanks to all those who purchased tickets in the raffle and to those immersion families who donated all the raffle items. The money raised from the raffle goes to the Marist communities that have hosted College representatives over a number of years.

On Thursday 29 and Friday 30 of August, the Year 9 and Year 10 cohorts spent the day with special guest presenter, the gifted and musical Michael Fitzpatrick who “retreats and reflects” with the students. Thank you to Michael for his contribution and to the students who whole-heartedly took part in the many activities offered during these days. These days are a timely reminder of taking time, connecting, and focussing on the things that are important to us as Marists.

Many thanks to the students who assisted with the serving of the QCS (Queensland Core Skills) breakfast on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 September. This year we had students from the Year 9 CSYMA class serve breakfast to the Year 12 cohort before they begin the QCS tests. It is a true “Ashgrove” way to show our support and the family spirit that is one of the characteristics of Marist life.

Every year, Ignite Youth hosts a Catholic youth conference. Ignite draws together a network of high schoolers, young adults, ministry leaders, families, teachers, priests and religious from around the country for four days of formation, encouragement faith and worship. The Brisbane conference will be held from the 26 – 29 September. While the College does not take a group it encourages young people interested to take a look at Ignite.

Members of the Marist Ashgrove community are welcome to celebrate Mass each Wednesday morning of Term from 8:00am until 8:30am.

Groups and Houses listed will assist in leading Mass. All other students, parents and staff are welcome to attend on these dates.
