Battle of the Bands

The 2019 edition of Battle of the Bands arguably provided the most consistently high standard across a wide variety of groups making it very difficult for the judges to arrive at a decision. Aria award winning old boy Tyrone Noonan commented on the amazing music culture that currently exists at the College and awarded a tight first place to Born (Henry Weinert, Jacob Johnson and Sam Weinert). Second place went to Year 11 band Slippery Toes and third place to Year 12 students The Half Grains. Well done to the nine bands who participated in this year’s event.

Winter Concert and May Ensembles Concert

Well done to the boys involved in these concerts. Both events gave testament to the great work that is going on with our beginner, developing and advanced ensembles. 2019 is proving to be a great year for music here at Marist.

Percussion Spectacular 2019

Last weekend Percussion Ensemble 1 joined ensembles from Somerville House, Mt Alvernia, Padua College, and Ormiston College in an afternoon of collaborative music making. As promised, the event provided a musically enriching experience for our students and a great opportunity to work with percussionists from other schools. The boys are to be congratulated on their high level of performance.
