SONY FOUNDATION / MARIST CHILDREN'S HOLIDAY CAMP

Planning is now underway for the seventeenth Sony Foundation Marist Children’s Holiday Camp.  We are now inviting applications from families with children who would benefit from participation. The camp provides four days of care, friendship and entertainment for children with disabilities. It also provides families of these children with some respite as senior students volunteer to take on the role of companions.  The camp offers accommodation, twenty-four-hour medical staff and care of the highest standard. Due to the demand for places, children can attend the camp only once.

This camp is supported by the Sony Foundation, so there will be no cost to parents of campers.

The camp is held at Marist College Ashgrove from Saturday 21 to Tuesday 24 September 2019.  The camp will include children from both city and country areas.  If you know of children and their families who may be interested in further information about the camp, please download an application form and brochure from the College website. www.marash.qld.edu.au/sony or contact:

CALL TO MARIST FAMILIES FOR ASSISTANCE – SONY CAMP FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES

We are calling for volunteer Registered Nurses to assist with the medical care of children during the 2019 Sony Camp. Without a substantial nursing assistance, the camp cannot function. Previous year’s camps have proved what a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience it is for Nurses and Medical Staff to work with our Senior Students in the care of the 35 children with disabilities.

We also require volunteers over 18 years of age who hold a current Blue Card to assist with supervision for a couple of hours from 8:00pm – 10:00pm each night.

Please contact the College nursing staff on 0438 800 622 if you are a Registered Nurse and interested or able to assist during the SONY Camp, Saturday 21 – Tuesday 24 September 2019 (September school holidays). Or can help with some evening supervision.

SONY/MARIST CHILDRENS’ HOLIDAY CAMP 2019

Donations!      Donations!      Donations!      Donations!

While the Sony Foundation generously funds much of the camp, and College Seniors and staff, including medical staff, give freely of their time. There are a number of ways in which the College family could contribute to the success of the camp, particularly through donations. Any of the following donations would be gratefully received:

Financial Donations (**can now be made via QKR**), bottles of water, milk and juice, confectionery, party supplies.
