P&F News

Dear Parents and Friends,

Congratulations to Adam Bell, father of Ethan (5V), on winning the Term 1 fees raffles.  Keep an eye out in Term 3 for your chance to win a term’s tuition fees.

It’s almost upon us once again – this year’s College Walkathon will take place on Sunday 19 May.  This is your P&F’s major fundraiser of the year.

Your boys would have received their sponsorship cards at the end of last term.  Please encourage them to get out there and chase up some sponsorship.

The day has a fun, social feel to it, so bring your family; catch up with old and new friends; stick around for the Battle of the Bands – you never know, we might discover the next Powderfinger or Go Betweens!

The Walkathon will only be a success with your help.  If you haven’t done so already, please register for a job on the volunteer page -

Sports Canteens

Football/Rugby season is by far the busiest time of the year in the sports canteens. The canteens are run by parent volunteers and can only operate with your help – please don’t leave it to somebody else.

All we ask is for you to help out for an hour or two once per season. Senior students are also welcome to help out. If you need more information or interested in helping out please contact Roberta Bannah on 0427166128 via phone or text.

If we don’t get volunteers then we can’t operate the canteens, and this is definitely something that we don’t want to do.

Parent Functions

The Tower - what a great venue for our parent cocktail parties.  Unfortunately, the Year 5 parents missed out due to the cyclone that wasn’t, but the Year 7 parents had a great night on 29 March.  We did discover one design flaw – no PA system for the courtyard – but your P&F has rectified that by purchasing a portable PA system for the College.

The next parent function (after Year 8 this Friday) is for Year 6 parents on Friday 7June.  Keep an eye out on the app, Facebook and email for details.  Please come along – it’s a great night in a fantastic venue; the food is great and the company even better.

Thank you Jenny Seesink for coming on board to help out with our merchandising.   We currently have re-usable coffee cups, shirts, caps and umbrellas in our suite of supporter merchandise – keep an eye out for new products.  Any ideas/offers to help are most welcome.

Merchandise is available for sale in the sports canteens or on TryBooking -

Coming soon - thank you, Michelle McEachern, from Paddock Espresso in Grange ( ) for your offer to stock our cups in your café.  If there are any other cafes (or other businesses) who would be interested in stocking merchandise, please get in touch – we’ll provide a shameless plug for you.

Entertainment Book

If you’re anything like me, you miss the days when you could go out to dinner and get away with buying kids’ meals for your boys.  As teenagers, it’s best not to even contemplate adding up their food bill!  There’s one way you can save on dining out and support the College at the same time.  Jump online to buy an Entertainment Book for free meals or 25% discounts and hundreds of restaurants.

Next Meeting

Monday 27 May at 7:00pm.

We’ve had enough of our own company, we’d love to see some new faces.  We may or may not have a job for you – that’s entirely up to you – but it is a great way to catch up with what’s going on around the College.
