Dear Parents and Friends,
For returning parents, welcome back. I hope you had a peaceful break with your families.
If you’re new to the College, welcome to the Marist family. You’ve picked a fine school for your boys – over the next few years they’ll grow into fine young men in the Marist tradition. My first Marist headmaster (Br Geoffrey Joy – for whom one of the boarding houses is named) summed up the Marist ethos in one sentence, and it’s stuck with me ever since – “If a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing badly”. To us, as 12-year-old boys, it took a while to sink in, but when you really think about it, it’s a motto worth keeping in mind. Mistakes are not failures, but learning opportunities that help keep us firmly grounded.
Year 5 Parent Cocktail Party
If you haven’t already heard, this will be held on Friday 22 February. This will be the first parent function to be held in the refurbished Tower.

Like any good Catholic function, we’ll have a bar serving beer, wine and bubbles. EFTPOS only please – no cash.
The Annual General Meeting of your P&F is to be held on Monday 25 February at 7:00pm in the Cyprian Pavilion. We invite each of you, as members, to attend. We value your input and welcome agenda items. Our meetings are always short and informative.
The main item on the agenda will be the election of Executive positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) for 2019. Two of our current executive will be retiring at the meeting. None of the roles are particularly demanding but can be very rewarding. If you feel you would like to give back to the College by taking on one of these roles, please contact any of the following:
