Dear Parents and Friends,
At the start of this year my son looked up to me; then we saw eye-to-eye for a while; now he looks down on me. No, he’s not going through an odd teenage phase, it’s just that another year has gone by in the blink of an eye. I’m sure I’m not the only parent who measures the passage of time by how much our boys have grown. It’s yet another reminder that we all need to cherish the special moments with our kids because these times really are fleeting. I hope you all get to spend some quality time with your sons and daughters over the Christmas break.
At the end of another big year at MCA it’s time to say “thank you” to all of you who have given so much of your time throughout the year. Without your help the Walkathon, the sports canteens, the boarders’ afternoon teas, Grandparents Day, Parent Dinners and countless other functions simply would not have succeeded. I’d particularly like to thank the parents of the class of 2018, some of whom have boys at the College for 16, 18, even 20 years. You leave the College a better place than you found it. Thank you.
I want to acknowledge the Class of 2018. I had the privilege of being present for your prize giving evening and your graduation dinner. The way you conduct yourselves and your spirit, you do yourselves, your families and your College proud. Never forget your Marist values and best of luck for the future.
Finally, something to think about over the Christmas holidays...
All the best for Christmas and the New Year. I look forward to catching up with many more of you in 2019.
