Ceremony of Carols - St Brigid’s Church,Musgrave Rd Red Hill
Sunday,9th December 2018, 7.00pm.
St Brigid’s church, is once again set to spread the spirit of Christmas with its annual 'Ceremony of Carols'.
This is a traditional candle-lit service. Beginning with candle-light only, a single voice floats through the darkness with the carol ‘Once in Royal David's City’. There’ll be carols sung by the choir and carols for everyone to join in, interspersed with readings that capture the spirit and meaning of Christmas.
St Brigid’s choir is accompanied by the ‘grand’ pipe organ. The String Ensemble performs again, this year you'll hear Corelli's Christmas Concerto and they will also accompany 'Sleepers Wake' by Bach (sung in German). All in the stunning acoustic of St Brigid’s church!
Supper and live music follow the ceremony.
We’re raising funds for the Jubilee Parish Refugee Support Group, as well as funds to support the music at St Brigid's, and there will be an opportunity to give if you wish.
Parking is available in the church yard, accessed from Musgrave Rd or Cambridge St. (But get there early to get a park. On-street parking on Cambridge St)
