The Position

The purpose of this position is to enhance the effectiveness of the Headmaster and support the College’s operations by providing a high level of executive administrative and secretarial support, building and maintaining effective working relationships across the College,

The Personal Assistant provides the full suite of professional executive support services to the Headmaster in a timely and effective manner, ensuring the specific needs and day to day requirements of the office are managed in a highly efficient and effective manner.  As the first point of contact for the Headmaster’s Office, this role requires extensive administrative and organisational skills in order to manage a high volume of activity as well as client service skills, tact and diplomacy.  The successful applicant will be someone with the ability to manage, prioritise and one who thrives in a dynamic and diverse working environment.

This opportunity has become available due to the retirement of the incumbent. 

Position Details

This position will commence on 13 January 2020.  It is a continuing term-time, 38 hours per week position with some additional hours required during the holidays as needed.  Hours of duty required is from 8:00 am – 4:06 pm.  The ability to be flexible with working hours is highly desirable. Renumeration is at a level 6 of the School Officer Classification of the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement - Religious Institute Schools of Queensland 2015 - 2019.  The hourly rate is $34.5368 plus 10% super and annual leave loading of 17.5%. 

Essential Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in an administrative and/or secretarial role.  It would advantageous to have school or education-based experience. The ideal candidate would have demonstrated high levels of communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service. A proven ability to prioritise workloads, demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail are additional essential requirements within this role.

Knowledge of education systems and processes, in particular a knowledge of TASS, or an ability to rapidly gain such knowledge would be highly desirable.

You must hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children) or be eligible to apply for a Blue Card and have valid Australian work rights to apply for this role. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The Recruitment Process
