Due to continued growth, the College is seeking a committed and dedicated Science Teacher, majoring in Chemistry and HPE, who has a passion for teaching Science and HPE and to work as part of an energetic team committed to excellence in the classroom. This is a full time, continuing position starting in Semester 2 on 13 July 2020.

The ability to teach other subjects is an added advantage.  Please clearly state the subjects you are qualified to teach in your application.

Selection Criteria:

  • Registration to teach in Queensland;
  • Qualifications supporting, and experience in, teaching Junior Science (Chemistry) and HPE

The College is currently seeking an experienced licensed electrical tradesperson with Test and Tag experience to work as part of the Facilities and Maintenance staff. This is a 12 month contract commencing as soon as possible with an annual salary of $65,000.  The typical hours of work are 6:30 am – 2:36 pm.

The ideal applicant will have experience in:

  • Electrical building maintenance
  • Air conditioning
  • Test and Tag
  • Compliance testing
  • Fault finding
  • Switch board installation
  • External lighting
  • Data/communication cabling

Essential selection criteria:

  • Applicants must hold a Current Blue Card (Working with Children) or be eligible to apply for a Blue Card, and ability to pass a National Criminal History check
  • A commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the area of “Tag and Testing” functions
  • Relevant qualifications for this position;
  • An unrestricted driver’s licence
  • You will be self-motivated and reliable
  • Be able to work autonomously
  • Good personal presentation and communication skills
  • Be computer literate
  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • A high accuracy level with paperwork and reporting

Due to a staff member being on parental leave, the College has a 12 month contract for an Events and Venue Co-ordinator from 22 June 2020 to 28 June 2021 who is responsible for co-ordinating College events, external venue hire and internal catering requirements. College events include fundraisers, major assemblies, school celebrations as well as College community and parent engagement activities. The venue hire component involves the coordination and management of external parities use of College facilities as an additional income stream. Salary is $65 000–$75 000 per annum, plus employer superannuation.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Degree in Events Management or related field is preferred or demonstrated relevant experience (minimum 5 years) co-ordinating events and the hire of facilities and venues;
  • Well-rounded events management skills with a demonstrated track record of success in a similar role, preference will be given to experience in the Education industry;
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills in preparing high quality event schedules, risk assessments, compliance, site maps, event orders, budgets, contracts, costings for events and venue hire together with financial reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and develop positive relationships with external parties and develop the venue hire side of the College enterprise;
  • A collaborative approach to working in order to develop positive working relationships with colleagues and suppliers;
  • Sound judgement skills with an ability to manage sensitive information discretely and confidentially;
  • Flexibility and ability to work out of hours to support events as required;
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to pitch in when required;
  • Demonstrated capacity to successfully work autonomously and be an experienced decision maker;
  • High level communication skills (both written and verbal), negotiation skills, and influencing and listening skills—in a culturally, diverse and socially economic environment and
  • Very good computer skills in, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of EventPro, Visio, Monitor, TryBooking and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) is highly regarded but not essential
