The Br Mark Farrelly Resource Centre was officially blessed by The Most Rev. John Bathersby D.D., Archbishop of Brisbane and opened by His Excellency, The Honourable Sir William Deane, AC, KBE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia on April 9th, 2000.
The new Resource Centre was named after Br Mark Farrelly who died in 1999, aged 46. The naming of the Centre reflects his love of this school, and honours both his commitment to education and his great personal qualities.
The Br Mark Farrelly Resource Centre is designed to provide students and staff with up-to-date, high-tech facilities, as well as the traditional library services. Facilities, catering for 300 students, include 9 class areas comprising:
• 2 MultiMedia Rooms
• 4 Seminar Rooms
• isolated Senior Study
• AV Viewing Posts
• Reading Area
• 5 general class research spaces.
The Resource Centre houses 50 networked computers, a collection of 55 000 resources and online access to databases.
The Br Mark Farrelly Resource Centre hopes to continue carrying our vision forward as it crosses new thresholds tomorrow and beyond. Each day we witness students engaged in the excitement of learning, the challenge of discovery and the joy of reading.
The Resource Centre is open from 7.30am weekdays and closes 4.30pm Monday –Thursday and 4.00pm Fridays. Access is also available to boarding students 6.00pm- 9.00pm Monday and Wednesday. |
