Community Service

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

At Marist College the ministry begun by Frederic Ozanam amongst the poor in Paris continues with our own Conference. For more than 60 years Marist students have been committed to the work of the Society and its founding principles. Community Service initiatives such as the BBQs with the homeless, visiting the elderly, working as volunteers or fund raising have typified Marist students’ involvement.

Opportunity for leadership exists in the five committee positions. The Conference is guided by a staff member. Students involved, experience great personal enjoyment and satisfaction that comes from knowing you have helped someone. Members develop many new social skills from interacting with people from different walks of life. The continuing presence of St Vincent De Paul at the College reflects the aims of St Marcellin Champagnat and his commitment to educating young men in the Marist vision of simplicity, modesty and humility.
