Marists are Taking Everyone Seriously

The Seniors of 2004 have initiated a new proposal for the College focusing on the area of Service. The initiative has taken the name of MATES … an acronym for Marists Are Taking Everyone Seriously.

MATES is about relationship … inviting the staff and students of Marist College Ashgrove to take up the challenge of understanding and reaching out to people who are facing the issues of the world that involve marginalisation and vulnerability.

It is more than fund-raising. It is an invitation to take the time to come to know the people to whom we raise and distribute our funds. It is an invitation to share our story and create the relationships that eventually will lead to growth for all parties. MATES takes into account the existing strengths of the College – Staff Commitment, Student Leadership, Old Boys Network, altruism of our student body and connections that already exist with current agencies.
