COLLEGE FOUNDATION
Our Foundation exists in order to raise funds for the necessary capital works at Marist College Ashgrove.
The Foundation has meant that Marist College Ashgrove will continue to provide an environment that develops:
• Religious
• Academic
• Vocational
• Musical
• Social
• Sporting Ability
by ensuring that funds are available to finance capital works.
It was decided to establish the College Foundation in 1993 to assist the Head of School to offer an education that is balanced, innovative, and comprehensive by enhancing the standards, conditions, and facilities of the College.
To this end it is an expectation that every family who accepts a place for their son(s) at this College will make a commitment to assist in the work of the Foundation. Parents are interviewed by a Foundation Director at the time of their enrolment interview. We suggest $250 per term per family, (tax deductible at this stage), with some families being able to assist with larger donations.
You can live Marcellin's dream by contributing to the Foundation through sponsorships or donations. Bequests are another great way to support the Foundation.

Champagnat Trust
"Our preference is to be with those who are excluded from the mainstream of society, and those whose material quality leads them to be deprived. Also, in relation to health, family life, schooling and educational values." (In the Footsteps of Marcellin Champagnat)
A Marist Education is valued in our community and assists a boy's future and that of the community in which he lives. A Marist education develops social awareness and a sense of community and family values, as well as a faith commitment that is relevant in today's world.
The foundation (established in 1993) is a very tangible way of supporting the school and helps to keep alive the vision of its founder Saint Marcellin Champagnat.
The Foundation has launched the MCA Champagnat Trust Fund, to provide assistance to persons in necessitous circumstances selected on the basis of financial need. The Champagnat Trust Bursary is a bursary for half tuition, half boarding fees and half compulsory fees for Year 11 and 12. The successful applicant will board for these years at the College.
Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
In keeping with our Marist heritage at the College, the principal criterion for the provision of assistance is a demonstratable, means-tested inability to afford an education at a Marist school. Applications for assistance are open to the public at large and may include students enrolled in Marist College Ashgrove.
Like all Catholic schools, the College has a long tradition of providing assistance to individuals and families in necessitous circumstances, made possible through the generous donations of benefactors and donors.
For more information, please contact Bob Keetels, Foundation Office, ph: 07 3858 4584, fax: 07 3858 4588 or keetelsb@marash.qld.edu.au. Applications Close on 30 June. |

What is a bequest
A Bequest is a gift and can be either named or anonymous. It is an instruction contained within a will and specifically reserves part of an estate for a particular beneficiary.
Bequests can be made in a variety of ways to reflect a person's particular wishes. They can be defined personal assets such as shares or bonds, fixed sums or simply a percentage of an estate. Bequests are usually directed to the College for use at its discretion. These unencumbered gifts allow the college to utilise donations in areas of particular need. Such gifts provide us with the flexibility to direct funds to projects which the Foundation feels are in most need of assistance.
Bequests can also be directed to a specific area of the College's operation such as the Resource Centre/Library, scholarships, Bursaries and so on. Testators can therefore play an active part in supporting the College's commitment to provide the best educational facilities and environment for its students.
A bequest is an opportunity for you to make a tangible and lasting gift. It remains a very special way of securing the future.

‘The Challenge today for Marist Ashgrove, is to meet expectations of parents and students in a Marist way. The original vision of our Founder St Marcellin Champagnat continues to grow, and offers an excellent Catholic education to the boys and their families. The Marist Foundation makes that vision a reality. It is ‘OUR CLAIM FOR THE FUTURE’.
